UFC Fight Night Beijing weigh-in results. Razor vs Predator Pt 2

Beijing-results-Razor-Predator

Curtis Razor Blaydes will be taking on Francis The Predator Ngannou once again. In their first meeting, Blaydes’ eye swelled up to the point that doctors stopped the fight. It was the first career and only loss that Blaydes has seen before or since. While he is rolling right now, Ngannou is stumbling. He has had two rough showings in a row and will look to get back on track against Blaydes.

Brutalized at 225, Reem posts to social media with some new scars

brutalized-reem-social-media-scars

They say that chicks dig scars. Maybe, but it’s doubtful that they like the Frankenstein look. If Alistair Overeem wants to be a stunt double in the next Mary Shelley movie, he’s well on his way after being opened up like a tomato can by Curtis Blaydes at UFC 225.

In case you missed it, here is the video of Reem painting the canvas with his own brain matter.

With all jokes aside, thankfully, Overeem is okay. He took to his social media to let his fans know that he is doing fine and that he’ll be back. However, the majority of fans who replied to the tweet are calling for his retirement due to continued excessive damage.

Because everyone on Twitter is a licensed doctor and know what’s best for him.

No matter what, CM Punk on the UFC 225 main card is best for business

matter-cm-punk-ufc-main-card-best-business

While I know all MMA fans are pure of heart and want things to be a certain way, it just isn’t. In fact, our opinion doesn’t really matter at all. All that matters to the UFC is money. Also, money. Lastly, money. By the way, that isn’t a dig at the UFC. The goal of a business is to generate the most dollars as you possibly can. The UFC is a business and their bottom line is more important than what MMA purists want.

We’ve seen this with the UFC’s handling of the UFC 225 card. In my mind, it was never a question that CM Punk would be on the main card. However, fans got into a tizzy when they saw that Punk and Mike Jackson were on the main card with a combined record of 0-2. Fans might not understand, but Punk gets it. He said he’d fight on Fight Pass if he could. The thing is, an entire audience will be buying UFC 225 from CM Punk alone and THAT is why he’s on the main card. In fact, his name recognition is why he’s in the UFC at all.

Curtis Blaydes and Alistair Overeem get it, too. They know that the UFC, first and foremost, is a business. In fact, the only people who don’t seem to ‘get it’ are fans and journalists. People were saying that Overeem and Blaydes were ‘demoted’ to the undercard. In usual Dana White fashion, his retort at the press conference this weekend was priceless.

“Listen, when Alistair Overeem sells as many pay-per-views as CM Punk does, we can argue.”

Yep, that’ll do it.

It should also be noted that the former UFC light heavyweight champion, Rashad Evans, is on the Fight Pass prelims. His fight will be seen by about 70 people.

We could soon be seeing Curtis Blaydes taking on Alistair Overeem

Curtis Blaydes

Curtis Blaydes just beat Mark Hunt, he’ll try and beat another former kickboxer in Alistair Overeem According to Tom Taylor, of BJPenn.com, the folks at the UFC are working hard to sign Curtis Blaydes to face Alistair Overeem at UFC 225 in Chicago.  The event is set for June 9th, and this would be a … Read moreWe could soon be seeing Curtis Blaydes taking on Alistair Overeem

UFC 221 open workouts. Yoel Salsa dancing and Luke riding a camel

open-workouts-yoel-salsa-dancing-luke-camel

Leave it to playboy Luke Rockhold to show up to the UFC 221 open workouts riding a camel. I know it may seem odd, but it really is SO Luke Rockhold. He surfs and skates, but apparently when he rides a camel, THAT is when he wears a helmet.

As for Yoel Romero, he spent his open workouts Salsa dancing with the ladies. He felt that for some people, the UFC coming to town was a party. So, he wanted to treat it like a party.

As for Curtis Blaydes and Mark Hunt, both just got down to business. This was Blaydes’ first ever open workout, so it took a minute to get used to everyone watching him hit mitts. Mark Hunt just looked pumped because he’s in Perth and he gets to punch someone in the face.

UFC 221 pre-fight presser HL’s. Luke, Yoel, Blaydes, and Mark Hunt.

presser-luke-yoel-blaydes-mark-hunt

UFC 221 is set for this Saturday evening. The main and co-main event combatants sat down for one last presser before they do battle on February 10. Luke Rockhold, Yoel Romero, Curtis Blaydes, and Mark Hunt were all in attendance to share their final thoughts to the media.

As usual, Luke Rockhold showed no shortage of confidence. He felt that wherever the fight went, he would get the better of Romero. Romero gave his usual retort, which consists of life situations and training hard.

Then we have the great Mark Hunt. “Mark. How will the fight go?”

“I love Australia. I’ve been here before, but that was with my Sheila. Now I’m with my wife and kids. Some stores have changed, but it’s still cool. Oh. PS, I’m fighting Curtis Blaydes on Saturday.”

In other words, Hunt is just there for the buffet and on Saturday he’ll get in a fight. His opponent, Curtis Blaydes, says he’s ready for whatever Hunt brings. Then, the guys all square off and do the staredown thing.

The card will come to you live on Saturday, February 10 via PPV, from Perth, Australia.
