Diego Brandao is not known for his composure. He’s a hot-head who has publicly lost his cool on more than one occasion. The latest incident happened today in the main event of Fight Nights Global 73, in Dagestan.
Brandao fought Akhmet Aliev in the main event and everything seemed like business as usual. However, in the second round of their fight, Brandao was frustrated with something.
He went for a takedown, but wound up on his back. He pulled Aliev close; Possibly looking for a stand-up. Then again, Brandao may have pulled him in close to (what looks like) bite Aliev’s ear. Aliev didn’t take kindly to getting Mike Tyson’d and threw a headbutt to Brandao’s chest while in his guard. As the ref separated them, Aliev landed 3 punches to Brandao, who then kicked him in the neck.
That was it. Brandao snapped and tried to leave the cage. As objects were thrown at Brandao, the referee pleaded with him, “Please stay and fight”. Diego didn’t want to hear it and jumped out of the cage, into the hostile crowd.
This is the first time that Rousimar Palhares has been on a card and was not the craziest fighter in the building.
