Allen Crowder set to face Greg Hardy says he’ll win it for Rachael Ostovich

Allen Crowder is set to face Greg Hardy on the UFC’s ESPN inaugural debut. The card just so happens to be Hardy’s first time under the UFC banner. Word got out yesterday that Hardy was added to the card and given his history with domestic abuse, some questions were asked. Most importantly, “Why would the UFC put a domestic abuser like Hardy on the same card as a domestic violence survivor like Rachael Ostovich?”. Dana White came out and gave the answer to that.

“She’s totally cool with it.”

Oh, well in that case…

Let’s be real. It’s bad form of the UFC, who have consistently said there is no place for domestic abuse in their organization, to continue employing these guys. it’s even more inappropriate to put someone like Hardy on the same card as Ostovich, no matter how ‘Totally cool with it’ she may be.

Hardy’s opponent, Allen Crowder, is certainly not cool with it and had some thoughts of his own on the situation.

“I definitely want to win this fight for her. I’m very against men beating women. I’m definitely not a woman, so he’s going to have a lot harder time with me than he did the last person.

It’s definitely a bad situation and I don’t know how she’s taking it; Best of luck to her in her fight. I’m going to get that win for her and we’ll go from there.”

Greg Hardy is trusting the process and is willing to earn his spot in UFC

Greg-Hardy-trusting-process-willing-spot

Dana White has made it no secret that he really likes the potential of former NFL lineman, Greg Hardy. In fact, Dana has plans for the heavyweight and is bringing him along the right way to ensure a solid UFC debut when it happens. The two have a timetable and Hardy is trusting the process spearheaded by Dana.

Hardy insists that he is a problem for any heavyweight in the UFC. Granted, he’s only 3-0 in his career. However, he’s supremely confident that whoever you put in front of him is going to have a really bad night. When given the top names in the UFC heavyweight division, Hardy doesn’t shy away from saying he’d come out victorious.

Fighting a top 10 ranked heavyweight right now is a bad idea because if he lost, all hype and credibility are seemingly for naught. So, Hardy will continue forward with his plans to follow Dana’s lead and see where it takes him. Hardy hopes that is all the way to the top.

Greg Hardy’s NFL peers “See him becoming the UFC HW champ one day”

Since Greg Hardy made his move to MMA, everyone has an opinion. However, it seems like his peers from the NFL and MMA really REALLY believe in him. Most recently, three-time Pro Bowler, Mike Tolbert, is the latest to hop onto the Hardy bandwagon and truly feels that he will be something special in the UFC.

“He’s so talented at everything he puts his mind to. Whether it’s football or rapping; He did rap for a little bit. He’s so athletic, big, and strong that I can see him being the heavyweight champ of the UFC one day. I really do.”

Tolbert says that Hardy is a brother to him and he is working on solidifying watching his next fight live.

Take a look at Greg Hardy’s 17-second knockout on Contender Series

17-Second Knockout

Greg Hardy was back on the Contender Series dropping bodies!

The Dana White Contender Series has sadly come to an end this summer, but it went out with a bang. All five fights tonight ended via stoppage and none saw the third round. In the main event, Greg Hardy came out firing en route to a 17-second knockout, dispatching 3-0 Tebaris Gordon. It was another violent stoppage from Hardy, who was a controversial addition to the series this summer.

We showed you his first KO on the Contender Series a while back, but if you want to refresh your memory, look at his 57-second KO, right here.

Greg has a past involving domestic violence and is currently on probation for cocaine possession. Dana White decided to give him a second (or third) chance and Hardy seems determined to make the most of it. That’s two KOs for Hardy in less than 90 seconds combined fight time. He’s a monster standing up, no doubt about it. He has amazing power to spare.

Despite Greg Hardy’s past, Dana White says “We’ll find out what he’s got”

despite-greg-past-dana-white

It’s been no secret that former NFL player, Greg Hardy, will be taking part in Dana White’s Contender Series. Many have scoffed at the idea, considering Hardy has committed domestic abuse in his past.

Apparently, the UFC boss is realistic to the fact that Hardy is human and has made some bad mistakes.

“I say this all the time. People make mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes in life. You should be judged on how you act after you do something stupid.

He’s completely sober now and turned his life around. Now he’s going to get the opportunity to perform in a different sport. Now that he’s coming into the Contender Series, I don’t care what somebody’s done before they got here. When you get here, this is where you’re going to be truly be tested and we’ll find out what he’s got.”

We have a video preview of the second season of the Dana White Contender Series

The Dana White Contender Series is back on June 12th, and it’s going to be a lot of fun. Last season brought us some talent to the UFC as well as some great fights. “Sugar” Sean O’Malley earned his shot in the UFC with a knockout victory via the Contender Series.

This season the most talked about aspect is the addition of Greg Hardy participating. Of course, Hardy was basically run out of the NFL after a series of incidents, including a domestic violence case that was particularly horrendous. His participation will undoubtedly draw some negative press. He will meet another former NFL player in Austen Lane.
