Holly-Holm-open-Cyborg-Megan-Anderson-first

Holly Holm has no misconceptions about what her immediate future holds. She has a date with Megan Anderson to dance at UFC 225 next weekend. If Holm wins that fight against Anderson, she is open to the possibility of taking on Cris Cyborg for the featherweight title again.

“One fight at a time and I’m always open to whatever doors open from here, going forward. Cyborg and I had a really competitive fight. There’s a lot of things that I have that are small goals, to the big goals. I’d like to go back and fight for the 135 lb title as well. I know I’ve been at 145, but we’ll see what happens after this.”

Holm takes on Megan Anderson at UFC 225 on June 9 at the United Center in Chicago.

No bull! Holly Holm tries bull riding for the first time

holly-holm-bull-riding-first-time

The Preacher’s Daughter put on a cowboy hat today and did some bull riding. Holly Holm changed her pace up a bit when she traded in her Thai pads for cowboy boots. Holm didn’t half-ass it, either. She didn’t go for the mechanical bull, rather, a living breathing animal. Even though the bull she rode … Read moreNo bull! Holly Holm tries bull riding for the first time

Khabib’s UFC 219 bold main event prediction of Holm vs Cyborg

Main Event breakdown of UFC 219 by Khabib

Khabib Nurmagomedov will play second fiddle to Holly Holm vs Cris Cyborg on Saturday night. He will take on Edson Barboza in the co-main event, right before Holm takes on Cyborg. However, Khabib gives his prediction on the UFC 219 main event to Mike Swick on the RQMS Podcast.

“I think Cyborg is going to go aggressive in the first round. If Holly Holm stays focused, doesn’t rush, and takes her time; I think she can catch her. I think Holly Holm can knock her out. Cyborg is so tough and right now she’s the best female fighter in the world. But, I think Holly Holm can knock her out.”

It remains to be seen what happens between the two, but it should be Cyborg’s most competative fight to date. Holm has never been outstruck in boxing or MMA and Cyborg is confident in her Muay Thai. Khabib, like many others, feel that the technical style of Holm can trump the overly aggressive Cyborg.

We are ready to see that fight right now!

Master Ken shows how Holly Holm screwed up against Bethe and nails it.

Master Ken shows how Holly Holm screwed up against Bethe Correia and nails it.

At this point, it’s pretty much academic that Master Ken is never wrong. He proves it once again when explaining how Holly Holm screwed up against Bethe Correia.

First and foremost, he is correct when saying Holm really blew it when she didn’t attack the groin. As we all know, this is Master Ken’s go-to finishing move. The opportunity was there for Holm, but she chose otherwise.

Master Ken goes over the different taunts that fighters often do and how to counter them. I think Holly did just fine with how she ended the fight. Yes, you should always listen to Master Ken. However, in all seriousness, Holly finished the fight like a champ.

Holly Holm knocks Bethe Correia out after Bethe opts to taunt her.

Holly Holm

Sometimes it’s not good to poke the bear, Bethe learned that the hard way.

During the main event of Fight Night 111, Bethe Correia got some not so great advice from her corner. They told her not to respect Holly. As a result, Bethe came out and after landing a couple of punches laughed. Then she made that one classic mistake that seems to haunt fighters in highlight videos all over the world. She taunted and waved Holly to “Come on!” Holy Holm obliged and immediately separated Bethe from consciousness with a head kick, and a savage left hand.

For Holly, it was a much-needed win, in a dire situation.  It showed her excellence, and her ability to time the head kick once again. I’m guessing if Edmund was watching, it gave him nightmares.

For Holly, not only did the knockout mark a huge victory in her career but keeps her very much in the mix at both 135 and 145 pounds.  You can check out the savagery for yourself, courtesy of ESPN’s Instagram.
