James Gallagher talks smack, gets his lights shut off in round 1

James Gallagher was in his opponents face, instant karma unfolded.

You don’t need to look too hard to tell that James Gallagher is associated with Conor McGregor. The kid is showy, brash and looked silly get into his opponent’s face before their fight. He was fighting Ricky Bandejas who was making his Bellator debut. The two had talked plenty of trash before their fight, and when James entered the cage, he immediately got in Ricky’s face, yelling in his face.

James’ teammate Conor McGregor had posted to social media that James should hold the submission after the stoppage to show them he’s boss. He’d never get that chance. Ricky came out and after eating a series of leg kicks and finding his range, he dropped James with a right hand.

Gallagher recovered but Ricky kept the pressure on, hitting him again, before landing a breathtaking side kick to the face and following it up with some hellacious shots on the ground. James Gallagher was out cold, big time. The knockout landed Ricky Bandejas on Sportscenter, and he planted his flag in Bellator with authority.
