Jose Aldo’s nasty body shot on Jeremy Stephens was pure artistry

jose-nasty-body-shot-stephens-artistry

I have re-watched the artistry that was Jose Aldo’s body shot on Jeremy Stephens a few times now. The combo that he threw to signal the beginning of the end was reminiscent of Donald Cerrone’s combo that took Rick Story out. While the combos were different, it was like watching a masterpiece being painted.

Jose Aldo showed that as long as he’s conscious, he is dangerous. Aldo was going through a bit of a rough patch that saw him go 1-3 since 2015. In his first non-title fight since 2009, Aldo really needed to show that he was still a threat. After last night, I think he has proved that he is.

The knock on him was that he was ‘chinny’ now after years of competition. He seemed to take Stephens’ best shots and never looked out of the fight. Then came the right hand up top and the left to the body that folded Stephens. While Stephens protested the stoppage, it was undeniable that Aldo had crushed him. Stephens has been on a roll and the win proved to be an emotional one for Aldo.

Jeremy Stephens to Brian Ortega, “F**k you, bitch”.

jeremy-stephens-brian-ortega-bitch

UFC featherweight, Jeremy Stephens, has a message for Brian Ortega and it isn’t a nice one. Stephens feels that Ortega is running scared from him. When asked if he had a message for Ortega, Stephens kept it street and simple: “F**k you, bitch. You ain’t shit”.

After Max Holloway was pulled from his fight with Ortega from this weekend’s UFC 226, the UFC called Stephens. Of course, Stephens immediately accepted the fight with Ortega. However, Ortega opted out of fighting at all and said he will wait for a healthy Max Holloway.

Most people would do the same thing because title shots don’t happen every day in the UFC (I’m kidding. They do.). Stephens just isn’t made from that same cloth and feels that Ortega is just running scared.

Jeremy Stephens keeps it 100. “Just shut up and fight”

jeremy-stephens-keeps-just-shut-fight

Jeremy Stephens is saying to his peers what many people are thinking, “Just shut up and fight”. It’s a simple concept, really. Instead of sitting on the sidelines and complaining about what you are NOT getting, go out there and take it.

Exactly one month ago, Stephens beat Doo Ho Choi and next week he’ll do a quick back-to-back by fighting Josh Emmett. Stephens isn’t looking for money fights; Rather, he’s being proactive and getting out there putting on a show. That is how the money will roll in. It won’t come by idly sitting at home and tweeting about fighting someone in another weight class because you want that one big payday.

Hopefully, other fighters take their cue from Stephens and follow suit.

Jeremy Stephens goes up 2-1 on Conor McGregor with ‘mom’ talk

stephens-mcgregor-mom-talk

Jeremy Stephens started his career vs Conor McGregor with a loss. Conor killed him with his now famous line, “Who the fook is that guy?”. Stephens evened up the series when he posted a photo a few months later embracing Conor’s mom.

There really is no coming back from someone getting your mother involved and today, Stephens landed another knockout blow. Speaking to TMZ, Stephens absolutely swung below the belt and secured his second victory over Conor McGregor.

“His mom is pretty hot too. Look at her, she’s great. Maybe his dad could pick us up in the cab he used to drive and then take me and his mom out on a date.”

The comments on that YouTube video are hilarious. Not because they are original or witty, but because McGregor fanboys hearts are breaking.

THAT is who the fook that guy is.

Cub Swanson breaks down fight between his former opponents

cub-swanson-fight-former-opponents

Who better to break down the UFC St Louis main event between Doo Ho Choi and Jeremy Stephens, than Cub Swanson? Being that both fighters are former opponents of Cub’s, the answer is, nobody.

Cub fought both Choi and Stephens to unanimous decision victories and in typical Cub fashion, both fights won him a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. In the case of Choi, they actually took home the award for ‘Fight of the Year’.

The bottom line is that Cub knows both Stephens and Choi very well. Check out his breakdown and see if you are in agreement with Swanson.

First ever UFC All Violence list. This list is for straight killers!

All Violence List

The UFC Rankings are subjective and often don’t factor into title shots. If you’re like me, you’ve kind of given up on the official UFC rankings. They are haphazard at best, and title shots are seldom given to the number one contenders. It’s a business and the rankings just seem like unnecessary shenanigans. So, what I’ve … Read moreFirst ever UFC All Violence list. This list is for straight killers!
