Dana wants DC vs Jones at HW. DC’s team wants him to retire now.

dana-team-retire

Team Cormier is ready for Daniel Cormier to ride off into the sunset. UFC president, Dana White, wants DC to fight Jon Jones at heavyweight. At the end of the day, only Daniel Cormier is going to do what Daniel Cormier wants to do.

Ultimately, it’s DC’s career, so it’s totally up to him. Yes, a fight with Jones at heavyweight would probably do huge numbers and he’d see the biggest payday of his career. However, if his head isn’t into it, then there is no need. DC has accomplished everything there is to accomplish in MMA and will go down as one of the greatest fighters to ever live.

I think a fight with Brock Lesnar would be his best option. It’s even more money for him and in my opinion, he’d smash Lesnar. However, like I said, it’s totally up to DC.

Gus vs Jones. Nunes vs Cyborg. UFC 232 Presser. Watch right here.

gus-jones-nunes-cyborg-ufc-232-presser

The UFC 232 presser comes to us live with five of the biggest names that the UFC has to offer. Dana White, Jon Jones, Alexander Gustafsson, Cris Cyborg, and Amanda Nunes will all be in attendance to field questions regarding all things UFC 232. You can either watch the presser live at 2 PM / PT or after it has completed, right here on MikeSwick.com.

Jon Jones will be coming back from an extended layoff to take on his old foe and title contender, Alexander Gustafsson. The two previously fought to a unanimous decision win for Jones back on September 21, 2013. Many people contend that Gus won the fight and that he was robbed. The two will fight once again for the UFC light heavyweight championship.

Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes will be fighting in a women’s superfight. Cyborg is the 145 champion and Nunes is the 135 champion. Nunes will look to become the first-ever female champ/champ in the UFC.

The card takes place December 29, 2018, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

DC on Brock, Jones, and Derrick Lewis. DC honest and open as always

brock-jones-derrick-lewis-honest-open-always

Daniel Cormier is one of the more honest and forthcoming fighters in the UFC. TMZ caught up with him and he was on point as usual. He spoke about Brock Lesnar, Jon Jones, and Derrick Lewis. Being that Lewis is his dance partner this weekend, his thoughts on Lewis are the most telling.

“To me, Derrick Lewis is more impressive because of his ability to fight. This is a young man that was in jail for a long time in prison and society gave up on him. He kept fighting and turned himself into a millionaire. Those are the things that matter. That type of self-belief is most worrisome.”

DC takes on Lewis this weekend for Cormier’s UFC heavyweight title. It remains to be seen what happens with the light heavyweight championship.

Finally, Jon Jones and DC agree on something. A designated weight class

finally-jon-jones-agree-something-designated

A few days ago, Dana White let the MMA world know that he was trying to set up a fight between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones. However, the kicker is that he wanted to make the fight in the UFC heavyweight division. Daniel Cormier has come out and said that he plans on fighting Jones in their designated weight class of 205 pounds.

“I want to fight Jones at 205. Because that’s where he beat me. He beat me at 205 and I want to beat him where he beat me. I think Jon and I are on the same wavelength in that sense. And we’re never on the same wavelength. We don’t agree on anything, but both of us want to fight at 205.”

DC acknowledges that Dana White is a powerful guy and he makes the decisions. But, DC insists that if he and Jones want to fight at 205, ultimately, they will fight at 205.

RQMS EP 36: Khabib Week! This is a crazy and very intense episode!

khabib-week-crazy-intense-episode

Episode 36 has dropped and it’s literally the most intense episode to date. Usually, our hosts Mike Swick and Marc Bogutzki are all about jokes on top of jokes. However, the first half of episode 36 isn’t about the funny. In fact, it’s downright heated and Swick’s ire is directed at Jon Jones and his recent actions towards the sport and his brother, Daniel Cormier.

Normally, you need to poke Swick to make sure he’s awake; He’s that mellow. When discussing Jon Jones’ recent diss on GSP and Daniel Cormier, as well as Jones’ actions pertaining to cheating in the sport and his social media presence… Not to give a lot away, but Swick is not a fan of the way Jones does things.

Mike and Marc then tackle the UFC 229 card and give their predictions. Of course, when it comes to Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov the guys drop a ton of knowledge. Being that ‘THEY ARE AKA’ you already know who they are picking to win the fight. It’s ‘How’ Khabib wins the fight that is so intriguing.

Again, this is another great podcast with laughs, tears, anger, and happiness.

Dana is working on a third DC vs Jones fight. Possibly at heavyweight.

third-jones-fight-possibly-heavyweight

Whatever Daniel Cormier wants, Daniel Cormier is going to get. So says UFC president Dana White when addressing what is next for DC. Cormier has been such a great ambassador for the sport that Dana says DC is calling the shots for his final two fights. One of those fights could be against Jon Jones and possibly at heavyweight.

This means that if Cormier fights his last fights at heavyweight he will have to vacate his light heavyweight championship. That may not be a bad thing, as DC will get his much-desired rematch against his rival, Jon Jones.

DC cutting to light heavyweight has always looked very taxing for him and both of his career losses came in that division. Cormier is undefeated at heavyweight and a fight between him and Jones could be something special.

Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones wage a verbal war on Instagram

daniel cormier

Jon Jones went at Daniel Cormier and DC shut him down with fury Man, these two just can’t seem to stay out each other’s way. Dana on ESPN’s ‘First Take’ discusses why he made Khabib vs Conor

dana-first-take-discusses-made-khabib-conor

Even when Stephen A Smith doesn’t know what he’s talking about, he’s very passionate about it. When speaking with Dana White on why he made the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Conor McGregor fight, Stephen A is once again running wild. However, Dana White has a simple answer to the question of ‘why?’. It’s because, despite a fighter having an extended layoff, if you fight in the UFC, you don’t get warm-up fights.

It’s a likely story and I’ll bite, but I think it has more to do with the fact that it’s what Conor wanted and Conor gets what he wants. Period. End of story.

It is the story that Dana is sticking to and like it or not, Khabib and Conor will square off on October 6th.

White also touches on the Jon Jones situation and of course, Stephen A Smith is an animated sideshow.

I have no idea how Smith and Skip Bayless ever had a show together without killing each other.

A tired Khabib touches on how he’ll beat Conor, USADA, and Jon Jones

tired-Khabib-touches-Conor-USADA-Jones

A very tired Khabib Nurmagomedov answers TMZ’s questions like a champ. Well, almost all of their questions. He seems fine with speaking about his gameplan to beat Conor McGregor, USADA, and Jon Jones. However, asking him about Conor McGregor’s new line of whiskey; Khabib isn’t trying to hear any of that noise.

The subject of Jon Jones is a very touchy subject for Khabib. One of his brothers in MMA and life is Daniel Cormier, so he’ll have DC’s back no matter what. USADA showed leniency towards Jones in their latest decision to reduce his sentence. It is his second offense and Khabib argued that USADA has been doing his fellow Dagestan friends dirty on their first offense.

How does Khabib describe the actions of USADA?

“Now I understand, USADA is number one bullshit.”

You got that right, Khabib.

Daniel Cormier responds to new of Jon Jones reduced suspension

Daniel Cormier

Daniel Cormier isn’t thrilled as you might imagine. He said as much.

Daniel Cormier was asked about Jon Jones and his reduced suspension tonight on UFC Tonight. Now mind you, DC is at work at the time, and probably wanted to say plenty more than he did. His frustrations, however, were not hard to spot.  Here is an exert from what he had to say.

“I’m the UFC double champion. I have bosses in the back and I’m talking about this guy because I have too. I’ve moved past that guy. I went about my business. I went and won another title. Now this guy’s suspension is up, so we’ll see what happens.

I think people get excited, people get excited about the prospect of us fighting again, but I’ve got a fight with Brock Lesnar. Why would I look back? Why would I look back to Jones now when I’ve got a fight? Obviously as a competitor I want to fight the guy whose beat me twice, but I’ve got a fight. Why go back? I’ve got a bigger fight with Brock Lesnar, why should I go back?”

Daniel Cormier also had a message for USADA. Bottom line, he’s disappointed. You can see his response below thanks to this Tweet by Fox Sports UFC.

Jon Jones given reduced USADA suspension, eligible to return Oct 28th

Jon Jones

Jon Jones reportedly provided evidence on other cheaters to reduce his sentence. Well, the old adage, “snitches get stitches” isn’t necessarily true. Sometimes they get radically reduced suspensions and the ability to headline a card at MSG. Jon Jones was dealt a 15-month sentence, retroactive to July 28th, 2017. Thus making him eligible to return on … Read moreJon Jones given reduced USADA suspension, eligible to return Oct 28th

Mike Perry details meeting Jon Jones while accidentally stoned to the bone

perry-details-jon-jones-accidentally-stoned-bone

I know. How do you ‘accidentally’ get stoned? Pot brownies are the devil and you have no idea what your actual THC intake is. Mike Perry ate one and finally met his hero, but he was as high as giraffe pu$$y. From what I understand, that is pretty damn high.

“I had this f******g brownie and I was DEAD when Jon came through. I didn’t know it was going to be like that. So, Jon was is a little disappointed in me because in our first meeting the other day, I was high as hell on some brownie.”

I didn’t think I’d be around for the day that Jon Jones was disappointed in someone for doing drugs, but, here we are.

Ilir Latifi tried a classy callout of DC. With no answer, Latifi gets meaner.

ilir-classy-callout-answer-latifi-meaner

Ilir Latifi was very polite and respectful in his previous callout of Daniel Cormier. Like the shirtless horseback rider that he is, Latifi didn’t rock the boat and asked DC for an audience. Cormier is a very busy man right now and he didn’t answer Latifi but did answer Corey Anderson. This seemed to anger … Read moreIlir Latifi tried a classy callout of DC.
