Jorge Masvidal and Michael Bisping have DM war, Jorge posts the results

jorge masvidal and michael bisping

Jorge Masvidal and Michael Bisping can’t seem to see eye to eye. Jorge Masvidal and Michael Bisping had multiple heated exchanges in New York City, ahead of UFC 217. They argued and had to be separate in the lobby of the fighter hotel, but it never was really clear what started their beef. I’m still … Read moreJorge Masvidal and Michael Bisping have DM war, Jorge posts the results

Donald Cerrone heading back to Lightweight and will fight less often

Donald Cerrone

Donald Cerrone is making some changes. Heading to Lightweight and not fighting so much. Donald Cerrone is among the most likable people in the sport. He’s always kind of had the devil may care attitude about fighting, well, about everything. He has and will continue to march to the beat of his own drummer. Michael Bisping and Jorge Masvidal get in another heated exchange

Michael Bisping and Jorge Masvidal

I’m beginning to think they two don’t like each other.

We showed you earlier this week, Michael Bisping and Jorge Masvidal got into a bit of a kerfuffle inside the lobby of the hotel where the fighters are staying in NYC. Today after the UFC Weigh-Ins, the two again had to be separated. It seems as if they truly just do not get along. To be honest, if Michael were to lose to GSP tomorrow night, I’d love his last fight to be a grudge match with Jorge Masvidal in the UK. It would be a great way to go out for Bisping.

After all the chatter, Bisping and Masvidal finally come face to face

jorge masvidal and michael bisping

Jorge Masvidal and Michael Bisping have been going back and forth online for a while now. Today, the chatter continued, but it was face to face and it went just how you’d think it would go. Masvidal’s manager, Abraham Kawa, captured the whole thing on his phone.

While there are many great fighters in the world, most are really just athletes who fight. GSP, Daniel Cormier, Tyron Woodley; Those are athletes who learned to fight. Jorge Masvidal is a fighter who learned to fight by the rules. Make no mistake though, if there was no UFC, Gamebred would still be fighting.

Bisping is arguing because… well, because he’s Michael Bisping and that is what he does. Masvidal is willing to fight in the parking lot if he was presented with the opportunity.

Backyards to Bright Lights: Jorge Masvidal documentary teaser

Jorge Masvidal

It seems a documentary on the life of Jorge Masvidal is coming soon, here’s a look.

Jorge Masvidal is a tremendous competitor in the UFC. However, before he ever stepped into the Octagon, he had a plethora of other fights under his belt. Professional, and amateur. When I say amateur, I mean in the backyards and back alleys of Florida. Kimbo Slice got his start in MMA because people watched his backyard fights. Masvidal was out there doing the same thing.

In fact, Masvidal fought and defeated a protege of Slice’s. After the fight Slice took Masvidal out to a very nice dinner. Masvidal stated in an interview with MMA Junkie that stated:

“He took me out to eat dinner and at the time I was dead broke. He took me to this fancy-ass place and at the time I was like, ‘Damn, this dude’s balling.’ And it was just cool as sh*t. I thought we were going to have to do some thugged-out sh*t, like run out on the bill, but he paid for the whole thing. I was like, ‘Man, this is some crazy sh*t.”

His life has been very interesting and I’m amped to see the documentary when it comes out. In the meantime, you can enjoy the teaser and get excited about his upcoming fight at UFC 217 with Stephen Thompson, which should be bananas.

Apparently, Jorge Masvidal has a big problem with Michael Bisping. “That dude is just a bi**h”

Apparently, Jorge Masvidal has a big problem with Michael Bisping. "That dude is just a bi**h"

On the eve of arguably his biggest fight to date, Jorge Masvidal has a big problem with Michael Bisping. As of late, Jorge has been outspoken when he sees injustices or things that don’t meet his moral standards. Michael Bisping is one of those things.

“That dude is just a bitch. He’s upset about a couple of things. He doesn’t like Cubans. My boy Hector Lombard had a run in with him back in the day. He kind of molested him in the elevator and that stuck with him. He always talked shit about Yoel and wanting to fight him. So then I said something… I don’t even remember what I said. I was just rooting for my boy, my teammate. Then they ask me to be on his podcast and I said ‘no, bro’. I’m not going to make his podcast famous. He’s been all butt-hurt and going on rants about me. That dude is a bitch, man!
Why aren’t you fighting Yoel? Is it because he’s Cuban or because he’s black? Then he’s saying he doesn’t want to fight Yoel, he wants to fight (Robert) Whittaker. To me, that’s just a ho, man. I got into this sport to fight the world’s best. If you’re the champ and you’re not fighting the world’s best… What the f**k is wrong with you, man? You’re in the wrong sport. Go do movies and go do that shit that this sport is starting to incline towards. If you ain’t about fighting, don’t say you’re a fighter. You’re not. Dan Henderson beat his ass. That dude ran from than man. Ran from that dude! That dude is NOT a fighter.”

If you’ve seen Masvidal’s street fight videos, you know that he will fight anyone at any weight. Jorge also keeps it REALLY real. Bottom line, if Michael Bisping sees and says something to Masvidal, expect Jorge to physically go after him.

Real Quick, Retro Pick: Jorge Masvidal submitted in Inverted Triangle Choke

Inverted Triangle Choke

This is my favorite all time submission

Back in 2009, Jorge Masvidal was in Bellator, and he had a fight against submission specialist Toby Imada.  The end result of this matchup is a submission for the ages.  Toby Imada ended up on Masvidal’s back and applied an inverted triangle choke, which for a moment looked more awkward than anything else.

However, as the fighters worked for position along the fence, the submission started looking tighter.  Eventually, Jorge Masvidal was left unconscious as the referee stopped the fight.  Check it out, it still ranks as one of the most amazing submissions in MMA.
