There was a lot of tension in the air at UFC 209 media day face-offs.

There was a lot of tension in the air at UFC 209 media day face-offs.

Media day is supposed to be low stress for fighters. However, there was a lot of tension today at the media day face-offs. Interviews leading up to UFC 209, have primarily been between Woodley/Thompson and Khabib/Ferguson. When the dust settles and the talk is coming to an end, this is where we see the real fireworks.

Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson looked like they are ready to fight today. The draw didn’t sit well in either of their mouths, especially for Woodley.

The people’s main event has to be Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov. These guys have talked non-stop about each other. It’s been a verbal sparring match between the two fighters for months now. The most tension was on display when they face off today. The weight cut looks rough on Khabib and Ferguson let him know it.

“Have fun with that weight cut. Your conditioning sucks.”

Rashad Evans and Dan Kelly square off and Rashad looks like he just wants to fight. He’s been out for what feels like forever and Dan Kelly just happens to be who is standing in front of him.

Lando Vannata and David Teymur seemed fine and dandy until Teymur said something to Lando. Before Lando walked off, he smirked and looked back to Teymur and said, “Good luck to you David.” Lando said it in a very creepy serial killer type of way. Teymur may have pissed Lando off and gave him the motivation that he was looking for.

Dana White was a deer in the headlights when Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt were about to face off. In all truthfulness, I can’t really say what happened. Just watch the video… It’s a bizarre scene.
