Where’s the beef?! Right here, between Oscar and Dana. Just heating up

It’s a well-known fact that Dana White doesn’t take too kindly to competition. Once he sees a threat he personally attacks whatever promoter dares try their hand in the MMA world. Right now, that guy is Oscar De La Hoya. Since the inception of Golden Boy MMA, the Dana/Oscar feud has been heating up and looks to not be slowing down any time soon.

Oscar went on a radio show and explained the beef between the two and from his perspective, it’s very telling. Basically, Dana is doing what he does when he’s mad. He brings up something personal, either recent or relating to someone’s ancestors, and beats it to death.

Oscar laughs at the juvenile nature and claims that UFC fighters call him almost daily, saying they are unhappy. I guess Golden Boy MMA actually is a legitimate threat to the UFC.

We call shots. Canelo beat GGG, they’ll fight when we say – De La Hoya

Oscar De La Hoya has his best boxing promoter hat on right now. He represents Canelo Alvarez and after Canelo beat GGG, Oscar thinks that the ball is firmly in their court. Since Canelo won, Oscar feels that they call the shots now. He does have a point, too. They fought to a draw once and the second fight, Alvarez walked away with the win. Alvarez doesn’t need the fight, GGG does.

“Is (Canelo) going to fight GGG again? Yeah, whenever we say he’s going to fight him again. We call the shots now. Canelo beat him. If he’s going to fight him, it’s going to be when we say.”

I’m not sure that this fight needs to be run back AGAIN, but they’ll make a lot of money again if they did. That much is certain.

De La Hoya rips Mayweather. Calls him a lowlife, says he needs money

Canelo recently inked a REALLY big deal and of course, everyone had an opinion. However, Floyd Mayweather gets his feeling hurt when he isn’t the one that gets the big payday and lashed out on his Instagram. Canelo’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya took exception to Mayweather’s rant and called him a ‘lowlife’.

Mayweather posted on his Instagram,

“It didn’t matter if Canelo ate his PED steak or not this night, this was by far the easiest fight of my career! Connor McQuitter was a way better fighter than Canelo’s cheating ass and I beat the brakes off him too! It takes me 36 mins or less to make $300 million plus. It literally takes me 1 night and 1 fight to make what you might make in 5 years and 11 fights! So really, who’s still winning? You do the math!”

God forbid anyone makes more money than Floyd. The guy simply can not live with anyone other than him, making a lot of money.

De La Hoya received death threats after GGG vs Canelo 1 went to a draw

I imagine being a promoter for any combat sport can be difficult. Setting up a fight where millions of dollars are involved and keeping egos in check at the same time, doesn’t sound like a lot of fun. What sounds even worse is getting threats on your life for something that wasn’t even your fault to begin with.

Apparently, after Canelo Alvarez vs GGG went to a draw the first time, there was misplaced rage by fans thrown De La Hoya’s way. Oscar says that people blamed him for the draw and he did it on purpose, so there could be a rematch.

Of course, as we all know, the judges are hired by state commissions and have nothing to do with promoters. This is similar to when Dana White gets blamed for bad decisions in the UFC.

One day, fans will get it. Not today, but one day.

How does ‘President Oscar De La Hoya’ sound? No, seriously.

It’s 2018 and nothing surprises me anymore. Oscar De La Hoya certainly doesn’t surprise me anymore, even when he claims that he will run for President. The sound of that is just par for the course these days. Let me just preface this by saying, I’ll never get the image of Oscar dressed in fishnet stockings out of my mind. It is literally the first thing that pops into my head when I hear his name.

It doesn’t mean that he isn’t fit for the job. History has shown that world leaders can be a complete mess, yet still be able to run a country. Despite Oscar’s history with fishnet stockings and cocaine, he may actually be perfect for the job in question.

…and to think, yesterday I thought Oscar was out of his mind by starting an MMA promotion with Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell headlining it.

Now, we are here.

Awesome Ortiz/Liddell III promo video made by Dreist Studios

Ortiz/Liddell (((

These guys make some great promo videos, this is one of them!

People can say whatever they want about Ortiz/Liddell III. They might be both past their primes, etc, but I am interested to see how it shakes out. I have a suspicion that a lot of other fans are also pretty curious. Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions will be putting the fight on. The fight is signed, but they have yet to release the date. Dreist Studios makes awesome promo videos and this hype video with Ortiz and Liddell has me ready to take Oscar my money.

The video does a great job of mixing old and new and making you want to see these two legends mix it up again. I think the odds favor Tito Ortiz who seems to have aged better, but Liddell will always have stupid power and that overhand right can still send you off into that good night. It’s for that reason that for me, I have to see this fight.

Check out Dreist Studios right here to see all the crazy good videos they do!

Questions about Chuck and Oscar doing business, get answered.

Yesterday, we were all over the picture of Chuck Liddell and Oscar De La Hoya with questions. In our article we stated, “Whether it’s Chuck boxing, promoting boxing, or Oscar promoting an MMA fight; We can’t wait to see what Chuck has in store for us.” The questions were answered and it is indeed, Oscar getting into MMA promotion.

It seems that right after this picture was taken, TMZ was hiding in the bushes, ready to ask questions.

Oscar laid out his intentions with MMA and Chuck Liddell.

“We’re talking some business. It’s no secret that I love what MMA fighters do and the technique they have and sacrifice they make. So, I want to get into the MMA business. I want to start Golden Boy MMA.”

It looks like the goal is to have Chuck fight in Golden Boy MMA and of course, the guys were talking about Tito Ortiz as an opponent. I’m sure there will be much more to come from this in the near future. Stay tuned, because the Iceman cometh.

Golden Boy and The Iceman. What is going on here? I wonder…

Hmm. I wonder what is going on in this picture with The Iceman, Chuck Liddell, and The Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya. So many things come to mind, but the most obvious one is, “Chuck Liddell to boxing?” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Chuck Liddell (@chuckliddell) It’s no real secret … Read moreGolden Boy and The Iceman. GGG vs Canelo slated for September, says Oscar de la Hoya

Don’t worry friends, GGG vs Canelo Alvarez wasn’t cancelled, it was just rebooked. Oscar de la Hoya confirmed to TMZ that the two boxing stars will square off in September.

Initially, Alvarez was busted for a doping violation, as an illegal substance was found in his bloodstream. Like most fighters who venture to Mexico, his team claimed that it was tainted meat that caused the drug test to come back positive.

If this was the UFC, Canelo would be subjected to huge fines and cancellations. However, this is boxing. Not much will happen, except the fight will be moved to September instead of May.

Thanks for the heads up, Oscar!

Oscar De La Hoya on Floyd to UFC, “Blah, blah, blah”

For once, Mr De La Hoya, I agree with you. Floyd Mayweather keeps teasing a fight in the UFC. Blah. I don’t believe it for a second and neither does the Golden Boy.

Floyd has been doing all of this weird promotion as if he’s actually planning on joining the UFC roster. We all know that will never happen; So, why the hell is he doing all of this posturing?

“Floyd can’t let anyone else have attention, so he does this. Of course (he’s doing this (to distract from Canelo vs GGG 2), but it’s fine. Our fight is going to do three million homes, so we’re good.”

Then, after TMZ gets in one more question about Floyd fighting in the UFC, Oscar scoffs, “He’ll never do that”. I wholeheartedly agree. If Floyd does anything regarding the UFC, it will be the ‘Ultimate Frisbee Championship’.

De La Hoya’s rambling response to Floyd’s ‘hypocrite’ comment.

The rambling and incoherent answer that Oscar De La Hoya gave in response to Floyd Mayweather calling him a ‘hypocrite’ is… special.

Floyd put Oscar on blast this week for saying that he wanted to fight Conor McGregor. Months ago, Oscar said that Conor fighting Floyd was bad for boxing. Now, Oscar has come out and said he wants the McGregor fight. So, Floyd did what he does; He put out a video asking if Oscar is a hypocrite or back on cocaine.

When faced with the question of whether or not he was being a hypocrite, De La Hoya said,

“Yeah, yeah… but… of course. Of course I was. It’s it’s it’s not about… What I said is that, I’ll take him out in two rounds. That’s it. That’s it. I don’t like the fact about a fighter fighting an MMA boxer or whatever; Vice versa or whatever. I just said, if it took Mayweather ten rounds, it would take me two. Easy as that.”

Mr. Madison, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Floyd on De La Hoya: “Is he a hypocrite or back on coke again?”

While I wouldn’t put it quite the way that Floyd Mayweather did, he certainly has a point. Oscar De La Hoya has come out looking like quite the hypocrite as of late. Oscar was very vocal during the build-up to Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather. He emphatically stated that the fight shouldn’t happen and that it was bad for boxing, etc. Recently, Oscar came forward and said that he now wants to fight Conor McGregor.

So again, I wouldn’t have said what Floyd said because he really put Oscar on blast. However, he was speaking the truth.

Then, Floyd dropped the bombshell that everyone but McGregor fans already knew. He claimed that he carried Conor in their fight to make it more entertaining. Here… Hold this beer while I die from shock.

The Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya, “McGregor’s not gonna land 1 punch”.

The Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya is not happy with May/Mac

The Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya, is beginning to sound a little like a bitter ex-girlfriend. He seems to take exception to the May/Mac fight getting more publicity than the fight he is promoting; GGG vs Canelo Alvarez. Honestly, I don’t blame him.

The real boxing fight is GGG vs Alvarez, while McGregor vs Mayweather is nothing more than a circus. However, it’s casual fans that buy pay-per-views, so all the mainstream hype is on May/Mac.

I agree with a lot of what Oscar says until he claims, “McGregor’s not gonna land 1 punch”. Oscar, you know better than that. The only way Conor doesn’t land a punch is if Floyd knocks him out with the first punch he throws. Which, statistically, has a 0% chance of happening.
