The Thug Diaries Episode Ten – Living the good RV life

Thug Diaries

This is one of my favorite fighter video blogs, join Rose and Pat Barry as they travel to LA

A lot of fighters have video blogs and I sincerely enjoy watching them. I have an interest in the fights and the fighters. I love to see how they live and few people are as open or honest as Rose Namajunas. Her and Pat Barry and simply two great human beings and if I could go a cross-country road trip with anyone in MMA, it would be those guys. In short, I can’t get enough of Thug Diaries.

They are traveling via RV to Los Angeles from Denver in this episode. They are going to LA for JJ Aldrich’s fight on the UFC 227 card. They stop and do a photo shoot, play with their dog and take their time seeing America along the way.

From Thug Rose

Were back! Watch us as we travel from Denver to L.A to watch J.J Aldrich compete at UFC 227, test out a new RV, and do a photo shoot with Austin (@austinarreguin) for a magazine (@Venimagazine). We hope you enjoy this episode and stay tuned for the next one to see more training and behind the scenes footage from before UFC 227.

Not short on confidence, Joanna J tells Thug Rose to ‘Bow Down’

Well now… Isn’t this just a little bit bizarre? Before her fight with Tecia Torres this evening, Joanna Jedrzejczyk has temporarily shifted her focus to her former opponent, Rose Namajunas. If my memory serves me correctly, Rose won both fights against the former strawweight champion. However, Joanna thinks Rose should ‘Bow Down’ before her because Joanna feels that she is still the best.

While confidence is a great thing to have, Joanna may be a bit over-confident. The fact remains that she lost to Rose twice and Rose is the champion. Yes, their second fight was very close, but the record book shows Rose as the winner.

Joanna is a beast but she may want to slow her role a bit. She still has Tecia Torres standing in her way tonight and that is where all of her focus should be.

Rose on Joanna, ‘She knows I’m the best, but she won’t admit it’.

While I love both Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Rose Namajunas, Rose has a pretty solid point in this video. The two strawweight have fought twice and both times, Rose beat Joanna very soundly. However, Joanna simply can’t accept it. She believes that she is the best and only lost due to circumstance.

The way it works in MMA is when you are the best and then someone beats you, they take that honor. Joanna blames the first loss on a bad weight cut and feels she won the second fight. Therefore, she has never lost in her own mind.

However, reality is much different and Joanna needs to simply accept it.

Dana White posts classic video of Thug Rose being a thuggish alarm clock

Thug Rose does thuggish things. Not like robbing little old ladies thug stuff. Rather, she does things that make you laugh and say, that was’ cold-blooded’. Dana White posted a perfect example of why you should respect Rose’s gangster.

All I know is if my wife sang the words to ‘The Lion King’ and then punched me in the face while I slept, there would be problems. However, if my wife looked like Rose and had that singing voice, I’d probably let her get away with it as well.

The way she punches him in the face and then gallops away like a cartoon cat-burglar is absolutely priceless. That, ladies and gentlemen, is your reigning and defending UFC strawweight champion.

UFC 223: The Thrill and the Agony Sneak Peak Video

The Thrill and the agony

I love The Thrill and the Agony videos from the UFC.

UFC 223 is in the books, and it was a weekend not to be forgotten. The Thrill and the Agony help keep the action fresh in your mind. Conor did his thing, Rose Namajunas proved her championship was in no way a fluke, and Khabib Nurmagomedov finally earned championship gold. It was an incredible night, and this video takes you inside the cage as well as backstage bringing you closer to the action.

The amount of hard work and sacrifice these fighters endure is almost unthinkable. They spend a lot of time away from loved ones, they forgo eating foods they like, and they damn near kill themselves to make weight. So when you see the elation and the utter dejection in winning and losing, it starts to make sense. These videos capture that extremely well.

In the latest sneak peek, we see Rose and Joanna’s reactions to the decision of who won. We see also see Khabib winning the Lightweight championship and how close he is to his AKA teammates. There’s a really nice moment with him and Daniel Cormier.

UFC 223 Fight Motion video is absolutely spectacular

Fight Motion

The UFC Fight Motion videos are always, top notch

UFC 223 is in the books, and it will certainly be remembered as one of the craziest events in UFC history. There was plenty to talk about to be sure. Folks were kept busy with the forever rotating main event, Conor McGregor going coo-coo for cocoa puffs and so much more. That said, the action that mattered took place in the Octagon, and we were treated to some great fights.  Fight Motion takes us inside the octagon.

In the co-feature fight Rose Namajunas proved her first victory over Joanna Jedrzejczyk was not a fluke, defeating her by unanimous decision to defend her Strawweight title. It was a great stand up fight that saw both fighters land a ton of shots. In the end, Rose did enough to convince the judges she’d won the fight. Joanna, however, disagreed.

In the main event, Khabib Nurmagomedov dominated Al Iaquinta from start to finish on his way to a very lopsided decision victory. The win moved Khabib to 26-0 and more importantly, made him the UFC undisputed Lightweight champion of the world.

I’m a big fan of the Fight Motion videos, and this one is no different. It captures the action in a way that really puts you inside the action.

UFC 223 Finalized card and bout order have been released

ufc 223

After all the fallout from Conor’s antics and NYSAC dropping the ball, we have a card UFC 223 is taking place, we can rejoice in that. It has definitely been a rough and frustrating 24 hours for the folks at the UFC. Conor went bananas and then the NYSAC made poor decision after poor decision … Read moreUFC 223 Finalized card and bout order have been released

UFC 223 pre-fight presser was like the kids say, LIT!

My son would say that the UFC 223 pre-fight presser was lit! His old man would have to agree. Khabib Nurmagomedov had real disdain and heat with Tony Ferguson. However, he doesn’t have the same thing with Max Holloway. Their dynamic isn’t personal and is strictly business, but it is very entertaining.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Rose Namajunas are also completely different from the first time they fought. After Joanna lost by TKO to Rose, Joanna seems to be more focused and a lot more respectful. She didn’t get in Rose’s face and try the head games like she usually does. Rose was her usual focused self and kept everything short and to the point.

The spirited nature between all four combatants was fantastic to see and will no doubt spill over into Saturday nights UFC 223 PPV card.

Wild UFC 223 conference call. Rose, Joanna, Khabib, and Ferguson.

Holy moly, what a wild conference call. Rose Namajunas and Joanna Jedrzejczyk fielded media questions, while Tony Ferguson and Khabib absolutely roasted each other.

Tony sounds like a rapper trying to spit bars and Khabib just laughs at him and mocks him. However, Tony talks faster than he can think. Usually, he says some slick stuff, but then throws out a line which makes absolutely no sense. That is where Khabib goes hard at Tony and then the cycle begins again.

Rose shows her usual humility and Joanna is very confident during the interview. The two are polite to the journalists who ask questions and let each other speak. As for Tony and Khabib, it’s just bananas.

If the fights are anything like this interview, they are going to be awesome.

Rise of a Rose – A Rose Namajunas short film by Teep

Rise of a Rose

Rise of a Rose is a short film about Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas

This video, Rise of a Rose is really great. First things first, if you don’t like Rose Namajunas, we can’t be friends. She’s an amazing athlete, fighter and more than that, she’s a great person. She often thinks of others before herself. In a moment that should have been her being selfish, after just winning the Straweight Championship, she made it about her message. Be good to each other. It’s a simple message that makes all the difference.

Rose has been a bit quiet since she became champion. You don’t see her out often, or see her in the media. She’s kept to herself, but I think if she is able to defeat Joanna again, she’ll become more comfortable as champion and maybe we’ll see her around more.

She’s about to get back into the cage and defend that belt against the lady she took it from, Joanna Jedrzejczyk‏. With that fight in mind, I thought it would be cool to share this film made by an individual named Teep. It’s a great video and a good way to get hyped for the rematch.

You can catch Teep’s other work here.
