Chuck and Tito have a face off in front of UFC promotional material?

Chuck and Tito

I’m not sure Dana White would appreciate this at all.

We’ve reported the news that Chuck and Tito are set to meet for a third time under the Golden Boy MMA banner. That said, they choose an interesting place to have a very public faceoff today. They posed in front of the UFC 25 years promotional material. It seems a bit odd that the UFC would allow them an opportunity to promote on their turf. Also, Tito Ortiz thanked Forrest Griffin for a tour of the UFC Performance Center today. Strange things are afoot.

Shaheen Al-Shatti of MMA Fighting posted a video of the seemingly impromptu faceoff.

Here’s the post earlier about Tito saying how cool the UFC Performance Center is and thanking Forrest Griffin for the tour.

I’m telling you, something is up!

Tito vs Chuck 2.5 will take place in the movie ‘Silencer’

tito-chuck-movie-silencer

With all of the news about Tito Ortiz fighting Chuck Liddell for a third time, news slipped through the cracks that the two made a movie together. Chuck, Tito, and Danny Trejo will star in a movie called ‘Silencer’. In a strange twist, it looks like Chuck is on the bad guy team and Tito is one of the good guys.

While we can only assume that this movie will go straight to Netflix and DVD it looks pretty entertaining for what it is. Granted, it does seem like they put most of the movie in this trailer and for what it’s worth, it looks exciting.

EA UFC 3 adds 5 iconic fighters to their roster. 4/5 are or were in Bellator

iconic-fighters-roster-bellator

The UFC and EA have added 5 new characters to their EA UFC 3 video game. It seems like a move to slap the face of Bellator, but who really knows at this point? Tito Ortiz, Mirko Cro Cop, Wanderlei Silva, Kimbo Slice, and Matt Serra are the iconic fighters that have been added to the game and sans Matt Serra, none are connected to the UFC in any way, shape or form.

Tito Ortiz was signed to Bellator before he retired and then unretired to fight Chuck Liddell under the Golden Boy banner. Cro Cop is currently signed to Bellator and so is Wanderlei Silva. Kimbo Slice has passed away but was last employed by Bellator as well.

This is an odd move for the UFC as the aforementioned named have all been cut by or have verbally bashed the UFC. I get wanting to give fans what they want in a video game, but this move seems a little premeditated to me. It feels like when Jon Fitch was fired for not wanting to sign all of his likeness rights away to the UFC for fear of them being able to use them in the future because something like THIS could happen.

Again, this is an odd move but I guess making money off of the fighter names and appeasing fans is the driving force in it. Regardless, these fighters are now available to play in the new UFC video game.

Andre Berto may have kept it too real for Tito and Chuck’s liking

berto-tito-liking

Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell seem to be the only ones thrilled with them coming out of retirement. Most people don’t want to see it but will watch anyway. Their best days are behind both fighters and while they should stay retired, the money may be a huge incentive to run it back a third time. However, the opinions of some of their peers may not be to their liking.

Boxer, Andre Berto, is one of those who thinks it shouldn’t go down. In fact, he’s almost at a loss for words when talking about it. Like Marcellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction:

“When you gone. You stay gone. Or you’ll be gone.”

Some of these guys just need to stay gone.

De La Hoya says he’s finalizing contracts with Chuck Liddell

hoya-finalizing-contracts-liddell

In this episode of “Will Chuck Liddell Fight Again?”, it looks like Oscar De La Hoya is one step closer to making this a reality. Contracts being signed, etc. seem to be all that’s left in seeing the return of the Iceman.

From Oscar’s mouth to our ears,

“We’re finalizing contracts and getting everything rolling. I’m excited, man.”

Within the past week, this has now almost come to fruition. As we posted before, Chuck is looking for a fight against Tito Ortiz. De La Hoya addressed the Tito situation as well.

“I’ve been talking to Chuck and Tito. They have a crazy history. If they want to fight each other, hey, I’m ready.”

On a side note, the TMZ reporter goes on to tell Oscar that he’s in great shape. So THAT guy now loses all credibility.

Every comment on this video’s YouTube post is from people saying that they DO NOT want to see this matchup. Granted, people hate everything, but the early consensus says that people aren’t interested in seeing this go down.

I say, let them do whatever the hell they want. I’m all in to watch Tito vs Chuck III.

One of the great joys of podcasts is that there is always a microphone on and always a question to be asked.
