Anthony Johnson’s manager Ali Abdelaziz looking to file appeal regarding “Towelgate.”

Ali Abdelaziz

Not sure we needed any addition drama surrounding UFC 210. According to Anthony Johnson’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz plans to file a complaint against the NYSAC regarding allegations that Daniel Cormier did not actually make weight prior to UFC 210.  This according to a report by Brett Okamoto at ESPN. “Anthony’s rights were violated,” stated Ali. … Read moreAnthony Johnson’s manager Ali Abdelaziz looking to file appeal regarding “Towelgate.”

MMA Comedy Animations: Les Miserables: A UFC 210 story.

Mojahed Fudailat brings his comedy animation back to the small screen in another outrageous video. This time, Les Miserables: A UFC 210 story. Fudailat seems to be working a lot quicker these days. We are only two days removed from UFC 210 and Mojahed nailed most of the events from the weekend.

He covered the Daniel Cormier weigh-in debacle from Friday’s weigh-ins. Then, he delved into the storyline of the actual pay-per-view fight night. We see Jon Jones’ DX crotch chop and to round out the video, Anthony Johnson sinks to the bottom of the ocean like Jack Dawson in Titanic.

It almost pulls at your heart strings. Almost.

UFC 210 Embedded: Episode 6 “I barely made that motherf*cker.”

UFC 210 Embedded Episode 6

UFC 210 Embedded is back with Episode 6

It’s time for UFC 210 Embedded Episode 6. This one is all about the weigh-ins. We see the morning official weigh ins, however they cut away as Daniel Cormier hit the scale, ignoring “towel-gate.” The fighters all made weight, and the card was official.

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson walked back and Cormier said, “I barely made that motherf*cker. Worst cut ever.” It remains to be seen if it has any effect on how he performs tomorrow night.

After the official weigh-ins, we were shown the fighters making their ceremonial weigh ins and face offs.   Here’s the video for your viewing pleasure.

Pearl Gonzalez pulled from UFC 210 *UPDATED* Fight is on per Dana White

Pearl Gonzalez

Dana White took to Twitter to remind us to only listen to him. Earlier today the NYSAC notified Pearl Gonzalez that her fight at UFC 210 was off, because fighting with implants is against the rules in New York.  The commissioner said this, the fighter said this, everyone said this, sans Dana White.  Now Dana … Read morePearl Gonzalez pulled from UFC 210 *UPDATED* Fight is on per Dana White

UFC 210 Embedded video blog series. Episode Four. Media day!

UFC 210 Embedded video blog series. Episode Four. Media day!

The UFC 210 Embedded video blog series is moving right along with episode number four. The UFC 210 main and co-main event fighters are followed around while doing their media day duties.

Gian Villante is back as the goofy sidekick to Chris Weidman. He crashes the media interviews to take pictures of all of the fighters and then putting hats or animals with them on his Snapchat. The best part of that is how hilarious he thinks it is.

Gegard Mousasi is his usual unintentionally comedic self. Diet and weight cutting are beginning to take their tolls on some of the guys’ appearances. Most notably, Daniel Cormier and Chris Weidman are physically wearing the signs.

However, all in all, nobody looks miserable yet and all appear to still be in good spirits.

UFC 210 Embedded: Vlog Series – Episode Three, Arriving in Buffalo

UFC 210 Embedded

It’s time for another episode of the great UFC Embedded Series.

Welcome back, we’re back with another exciting episode of UFC 210 Embedded.  We posted Episodes 1 and 2 yesterday, and they can be seen here.  Today, we get a look at Chris Weidman’s home life, and then he’s seen arriving in Buffalo.  They check into their hotel room and Gian Villante immediately goes full savage and pees all over the toilette seat.  You can’t take him anywhere.

The scene switches to Daniel Cormier flying on a small private turboprop plane so he can do some media in CT with ESPN.  He’s not thrilled to be on the small plane, and Bob Cook’s input that it’s a safe plane doesn’t seem to be helping. At one point, DC looks out the window and says they’re flying sideways, but he’s not scared. Clearly, he’s scared.

The end of the video is Gian Villante and Chris Weidman showing off their O-Line and D-Line moves.  Weidman and Gian seem to have an awesome friendship, and the episode ends with them leaving to play Nintendo.

UFC 210 media conference call. Rumble, Cormier, Weidman, and Mousasi.

UFC 210 media conference call. Rumble, Cormier, Weidman, and Mousasi.

Listen live, when the main and co-main event fighters from UFC 210 call in and field media questions. Anthony Johnson, Daniel Cormier, Chris Weidman, and Gegard Mousasi are kicking off their media obligations for next week’s anticipated UFC 210 pay-per-view. The call begins at 5 ET/2 PT.

Daniel Cormier vs Anthony Johnson will be a rematch from two years ago when they squared off and Cormier picked up the victory over Johnson. Since then, Cormier has beaten Alexander Gustafsson and Anderson Silva, both by decision. As for Rumble, he is riding a three fight brutal knockout win streak. He’s 12-1 in the last five years, with Cormier being his only loss.

Chris Weidman vs Gegard Mousasi is a fight of great significance. Weidman dropped his last two fights after beginning his career 13-0 and picking up the UFC middleweight championship along the way. He is fighting to regain his place in the middleweight division. Standing in his way is Gegard Mousasi. Mousasi is on a four-fight winning streak and with this fight, hoping to grab that #1 contender spot.

I imagine everyone will have a lot to say.
