Yair Rodriguez got busted up pretty badly. Shows off bumps and bruises

After going to battle with the Korean Zombie, it was expected that both guys would come out with a few bumps and bruises. Expectations were definitely met, as both guys were a complete mess after their 5-round war. Rodriguez got on the horn with TMZ and showed off his battle wounds.

His nose and foot took the brunt of the damage and both were pretty destroyed. His foot, especially, looked terrible. The foot was so swollen that he looked like he was walking on Sherman Klump’s leg.

It’s just another hazard of the MMA job and I think deep down that fighters actually love getting busted up. On some level you would think that they have to love it, because getting punched and bent every which way is not a normal thing.

In the famous words of one Rocky Balboa in The Gettysburg Address, he once said, “In this ring, there were 2 guys killing each other, but, I guess, that’s better, than 20 million.” Yair Rodriguez posted a post-war picture of himself and Chan Sung Jung in the hospital after their fight and like the old … Read moreA picture says 1000 words. Relive the epic last second KO by Yair Rodriguez on the Korean Zombie

relive-epic-last-second-yair-rodriguez-korean-zombie

If you missed the UFC Fight Night from Denver, it’s safe to say that you missed a lot. There were some great fights to be seen but none was better than the main event between Yair Rodriguez and The Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung. Relive watching the two guys going to war for five rounds and the stunning finish that Rodriguez had, right here.

A reverse elbow to the jaw of The Korean Zombie flattened him face down on the canvas. Upon review, the KO was absolutely bananas. For Rodriguez to have the presence of mind to be aware of all of his weapons like that, is mind blowing.

After 24 minutes and 58 seconds, you’d think Rodriguez would ease off the gas.

Nope.

The UFC is cutting ties with Yair Rodriguez over turning down fights

Yair Rodriguez

This is the same offense Dana says Nate Diaz does time and again. This one is a bit surprising to me. Yair Rodriguez has nothing going on in his life except fighting, fighting, and, fighting.

Yair Rodriguez

We all know that Yair Rodriguez is hungry. He’s hungry to win fights and get featherweight gold. So much, that he has nothing going on in his life, except fighting. For breakfast, lunch, and, dinner he eats fighting. While most fighters surround themselves with loved ones and friends, Rodriguez surrounds himself with MMA. He’s young and aware that the time is now, to make it happen in his MMA career.

He spoke about his opponent, Frankie Edgar and the differences between them.

“He already knows what it takes to be a champion, but I’m just younger and hungrier. I have no friends and don’t go out to party. I don’t do shit. The only thing I do is training and fighting. That’s it. That’s what my life is all about. I don’t have a girlfriend. I don’t have nothing. Nothing to focus on, but fighting.”

Rodriguez will square off against ‘The Answer’ Frankie Edgar, this weekend at UFC 211.

Hey, Yair Rodriguez. Who do you want to fight next? "I don't really give a f--k"

Yair Rodriguez seemingly became an over night star with his victory over BJ Penn. As with any up and coming star, before they even leave the Octagon after victory they get asked, ‘Who’s next?’

TMZ Sports caught up with Yair and posed the same question to him. As always, Rodriguez answered in the most Rodriguez way possible.

“I don’t really give a f–k. The UFC’s the one. They work on that stuff. Whoever is next, I don’t care.”

This kid is just oozing with confidence right now. Of course TMZ asked Rodriguez about Trump and Mexico, which he also addressed.
