Lightweights Justin Gaethje and Eddie Alvarez are coaching TUF 26.
The 26th installment of The Ultimate Fighter will feature fighters in the newly created Women’s Flyweight division. At the end of the TUF 26 season, a new champion will be crowned. Similar to when TUF introduced the 115-pound division and Carla Esparza walked away from the tournament winner, and inaugural Strawweight Champion.
The 125-pound division will find a host of fighters who were too big for 115 and too small for 135. Not only that, we’ll see an influx of new talent heading into the UFC. It should be an interesting season. The coaches are none other than Lightweights Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje who is coming off a stellar debut against Michael Johnson.
Some feel it’s not a great idea to put Gaethje on the shelf for the time being, coaching the show, but I like the decision, and a potential fight with Alvarez is pure violence.
The debut for TUF 26 has not yet been announced, nor have the participants.
