Twitter also scores the Esparza-Markos fight a split decision

One of the most interesting prelim fights last night at UFC Fight Night Halifax was in the women’s strawweight division as the first ever women’s strawweight champion Carla Esparza took on unranked Randa Markos.

While the two appeared on The Ultimate Fighter together, this was their first time crossing paths inside the cage. It’s not often a match between a #3 ranked fighter and an unranked fighter is pegged as interesting, but Esparza is coming off of a 10-month layoff and side-stepped a call out by Claudia Gadelha to take what she believed was going to be a tune up fight.

Markos shocked the crowd by taking a split decision victory from “The Cookie Monster”, and of course twitter was going to have something to say about it.

While many thought Carla won, including the vast majority on MMADecisions.com, there were a few holdouts who scored the fight Randa’s way.

Judging has been called into question a lot lately. But anytime there is a split decision, much like with the judges, you will have people sitting on either side of the fence.

So how did you guys score it? Did the judges in Halifax get it right?
