The fights are in the books, and the UFC decided to hand out three big bonus checks
The Barclays Center is empty, as the capacity crowd has filed out into the night after taking in ten fights. Of those ten clashes, nine of them went to the judges scorecards. That’s not usually a good indicator for fighters getting bonuses. That said, the UFC handed out some coin at the Post Fight Press Conference. Here are your UFC 208 Post Fight Bonus winners.
The first bonus went to the only fighter to win his fight without the necessity of the judges. Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza did what he does, and submitted Tim Boetsch in the first round of their fight with a fight ending armbar. For Souza, the maneuver brought him a nice bonus check for 50,000.00 but more importantly, the win should finally see him in line for a Middleweight Title fight with whoever wins between Yoel Romero and Michael Bisping.
The other two fighters who each took home a nice 50,000.00 dollar bonus were Dustin Poirier and Jim Miller for their Fight of the Night clash. It was the first fight of the PPV, and both men fought their hearts out. In the end, Dustin Poirier won the fight, but in doing so, looks to have injured his right leg. Here’s hoping he can go home, put his leg up and spend that 50 grand to make it feel better.
