As we approach the second UFC pay-per-view event of the post-Mike Goldberg era, we will once again see a 3-man broadcast team for UFC 209.
UFC 208 saw Joe Rogan joined by Jon Anik and UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. Cormier mentioned that UFC 208 would be his last broadcast commitment before heading into fight camp for his UFC 210 title defense against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson.
It was announced yesterday that DC would be replaced by former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. Cruz has been a staple of UFC telecasts since late 2015, often offering some very deep fight analysis to the viewers.
Cruz was part of the announce team alongside Anik for UFC Fight Night Brazil, headlined by Cris Cyborg vs. Lina Lansberg. While we have seen him at the desk for pre and post-fight shows for PPV telecasts, this will mark his first appearance as part of the actual announce team for the pay-per-view itself.
UFC 209 takes place Saturday, March 4, from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It airs live on pay-per-view with the main card starting at 10pm EST.
