UFC Fight Night 110 in New Zealand to feature a heavyweight clash

I received an early B-Day present, as Mark Hunt & Derrick Lewis will fight June 11th

Reports were circulating that a potential Mark Hunt vs. Derrick Lewis fight could be in the works. Well, if Derrick Lewis is to be believed, the fight is a done deal.  Derrick took to Twitter to happily announce the fight.  Check it out.

The event is scheduled to take place June 11th in Aukland, New Zealand at the Vector Arena.  Another rumored fight to take place is Daniel Kelly taking on Derek Brunson.  The New Zealand fans would be thrilled to get their home country fighters Hunt and Kelly on the same card, in New Zealand.

Mark Hunt is coming off a knockout loss to Alistair Overeem.  He is 12-11 as a professional and is 2-1-1 in his last four fights. He originally lost to Brock Lesnar at UFC 200, but it was later ruled a no-contest as Lesnar failed his drug test with USADA.

Derrick Lewis (18-4) has won six fights in a row, and in his last bout, he knocked out Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night 105.

Daniel Kelly (13-1) just defeated Rashad Evans at UFC 209 and has won four in a row, despite having a leg held together by tape and the raw athleticism of a 70-year-old man. He just gets in the cage and competes and does whatever it takes to win. He’s a machine in the Octagon and is a tough test for anyone.

Derek Brunson lost a controversial decision to Anderson Silva at UFC 208.  He had won five in a row before losing his last two. He lost to Anderson Silva and before that he was bested by Robert Whittaker.
