UFC Roster Shrinking- Zach Makovsky and Ali Bagautinov not being re-signed

The UFC decided to trim their roster a bit today.  Who was sent packing?

Unfortunately, today there were some UFC roster shrinkage.  MMA Junkie reported that flyweight Zach Makovsky (19-8) is no longer in the UFC. He’s 3-4 since coming to the UFC and the last fight of his contract was a loss to Dustin Ortiz at UFC 206.  It was his third straight loss.  The UFC has opted to not renegotiate a new contract with him.  He finds himself available to seek a new home to employ his pugilistic ways.

Zach started in the UFC by winning his first two fights. He defeated Scott Jorgensen and Josh Sampo back to back to start his UFC tenure.  However, he we 1-4 after that and that’s why he’s not being considered for a new contract.

Another Flyweight saw his UFC tenure come to an end today.  The UFC is opting not to sign Ali Bagautinov (15-6).  In his last fight, he came up short against Kyogi Horiguchi at UFC Fight Night 99.  He carries a 4-3 record in the UFC and fought for the Flyweight title at UFC 174, losing to Demetrious Johnson.

Ali has a winning record in the UFC and fought for a championship in 2014, so it’s surprising he’s not being signed to a new deal.
