UFC Fight Night: Denver, weigh-ins. Pena vs Shevchenko. All but one, make weight.

All of the fighters for tomorrow night’s UFC Fight Night: Denver, took to the scale this morning.

Everyone made weight except for Marcos Rogerio de Lima. Losing 2 of his last 3 and missing weight is not a good look to the UFC brass. He will need a big win on Saturday if he wants to stick around.

Valentina Shevchenko and Julianna Pena will do battle in what appears to be a #1 contender bantamweight fight. Shevchenko is coming off of a dominant victory over Holly Holm. Julianna Pena is 4-0 in her UFC campaign. With all that has gone on in the women’s bantamweight division as of late, common sense says she’s a Shevchenko win away from a Nunes title shot.

Cowboy and Jorge Masvidal square off in a match that Masvidal seems to have made personal. The fight is a ‘must win’ for Masvidal if he wants to get to the top. Cowboy is 13-2 since 2013, with his only losses coming to Rafael Dos Anjos. Masvidal is on a 2 fight win streak and needs to continue winning convincingly, to be considered for the upper echelon of the welterweight division.

Andrei Arlovski looks to regain some momentum after losing 3 straight fights. Francis Ngannou is trying to make a statement in the heavyweight division. These two factors make a combustible element that will probably see someone get knocked out.

The rest of the card is filled with good matchups, as well as the returns of Aljamain Sterling and Nate Marquardt. Fight pass Prelims begin at 4 PM/1 PM ET/PT
